After a series of successful and warmely accepted performances with the Venice Baroque Orchestra in Central Europe, the famous mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená will appear in her hometown Brno in October. The best Czech early music ensemble Collegium 1704 which has gained a significant international reputation, will accompany Magdalena on this tour. The orchestra will perform under the baton of Andrea Marcon, the renowned expert on historically informed performance of early music.

Excerpts from the operas “Orlando Furioso” and “Farnace and Griselda” by the Italian master Antonio Vivaldi will be performed as well as parts of the opera “Ariodante” and the oratorio “Joshua” by George Frideric Handel, the German genius who acted in England. Instrumental compositions by both composers will complete the program in performances by the leading flautist Anna Fusek and the bassoon player Györgyi Farkas.
