The correct pronuntiation is KoJena. This J you have to say like the J in french name Jean, not as John in english. Greetings

Dear Bruno,

thanks for your explanation of pronounciation of Ms. Kozena´s surname. It is perfectly all right. Just two more details: in the Czech version of her surname is "Kožená" - "z" with the "hook" is really read as French "J" in "Jean" and also: the sign above the final "á" makes the "a" sound longer.

Emphasis on the second syllable or the last? I think I've been mistakenly putting the accent on the last because of the accent above the "a" (I'm a student of Italian).

Dear Christopher,

just few words to your question: the stress in the Czech language is always on the first syllable. This is also the case of the surname "Kožená". Still, the "á" at the end is pronounced as a long vowel.
