The dramatic fate of female heroes has inspired artists since antiquity and stories full of passion, love, grief, but also defiance, joy, and determination have become the subject of artistic representation in literature, art and music. Magdalena Kožená will be a "Garden of Wail" guide in a program composed of dramatic scenes of famous female heroes such as Armida or Ariadne, as well as lesser-known stories of devoted love, such as the story of the Ero nymph. The music of Italian cantatas by George Friedrich Händel complements the works of his Venetian and Nepolian contemporaries, and the flames of Italian music blend in with the passion of immortal stories.
The programme is recorded on the new CD of the label Pentatone
