Magdalena presented a new endowment fund to support arts primary schools, of which she is both the founder and the patron, at yesterday’s press conference. She was joined in presenting the endowment fund’s plans and the unique Czech arts education system by the fund’s co-patron, the Managing Director of the Czech Philharmonic, David Mareček, who is also a member of the Management Board, the Chairman of the fund’s Management Board, David Dittrich, and the project’s guarantor representing the arts primary schools, Pavel Borský from the Vítězslava Kaprálová Arts Primary School.
Within the framework of its targeted activities, the endowment fund will assist in increasing the visibility of the unique arts primary schools, help the schools to achieve further growth in artistic talent and support the arts primary schools in their activities. There are 488 arts primary schools in the Czech Republic attended by 247 thousand pupils. They currently offer four basic fields of training: music, dance, art and literature-drama. The fund’s mission and plans will be officially presented at a donor gala evening at the Rudolfinum on 26th February 2016.
