Love and Duty
Can you enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Or do you have to compromise?
The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment explores this question with sublime arias by Mozart and Gluck, sung by Magdalena.
The concert is constructed in an old-fashioned style, with operatic arias interceding the movements of Mozart’s passionate Symphony No.40.
Sweets songs of love from The Marriage of Figaro are contrasted with the challenges of duty laid bare in Mozart’s swansong, La Clemenza di Tito.
