In February, Magdalena made a tour with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Take a look at the photos and read the reviews from London, Moscow, Istanbul, Athens, Paris and Aix en Provence, where the audience could hear the programme entitled Love and Duty: Can you enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, or do you have to compromise? Magdalena and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under the baton of Giovanni Antonini explored this question with sublime arias by Mozart and Gluck. The concerts were constructed in an old-fashioned style, with operatic arias interceding the movements of Mozart's passionate Symphony No. 40. Sweet songs of love from The Marriage of Figaro were put in contrast to the challenges of duty laid bare in Mozart's Swansong, La Clemenza di Tito.
